Afghanistan’s superstar leg-spinner Rashid Khan has added another feather to his cap, surpassing Dwayne Bravo to become the leading wicket-taker in T20 cricket history. The milestone was achieved during the SA20 2025 tournament when Rashid picked up two wickets for MI Cape Town in Qualifier 1 against Paarl Royals, helping his team reach the final.
Rashid now stands at 633 wickets across 457 innings, overtaking Bravo’s tally of 631 wickets. His remarkable consistency and effectiveness are reflected in his outstanding average of 18.00 and a blistering strike rate of 16.6, making him arguably the most dominant T20 bowler in modern-day cricket.

Rashid Khan’s T20I Dominance
Rashid Khan’s brilliance extends beyond franchise cricket. Out of his 633 wickets, a staggering 161 have come in T20 Internationals (T20Is). This makes him only the second bowler in history to take 150+ wickets in T20Is, following New Zealand’s Tim Southee.
Despite being a leg-spinner, Rashid has dominated in all conditions and against all opponents, proving his ability to turn games single-handedly. His unmatched consistency across leagues like the IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, The Hundred, and the Afghanistan Premier League showcases his adaptability and skill.
A True T20 Legend
At just 26, Rashid Khan’s dominance in the shortest format continues to grow. Given his fitness and hunger for success, he looks well on course to extend his record further and set an unreachable benchmark for future generations.
With Rashid leading MI Cape Town to the SA20 final, another T20 trophy could soon be added to his collection. Can he cap off this milestone with a title? Time will tell, but one thing is certain—Rashid Khan is rewriting T20 bowling records like no one else.
